Testimonials and Guest Reviews
"Having a plan our trip to Albania ensured a seamless, well-rounded, easy-traveling experience on our honeymoon. They are professional, experienced, and tell it like it is—no gimmicks. We loved their approachability and attitude and would absolutely use them again and recommend them to others. Great balance between touring and free time in each place. One of the best trips that we will always remember."

Food and drinks every where in Albania is not only cheap but delicious. I have travelled all over the world but Albania is by far my favourite and great value for money…….."
"Everything was seamless and planned so well. The guides and drivers, local contact plus the New York contacts were all very knowledgeable as well as kind to the children. Everyone was very quick to respond when I had questions. Also, all of our drivers and connections were on time and excellent. Everything worked beautifully and everything was completely and efficiently handled from start to finish. All we had to do is show up and have fun."
"During the tour we visited and stayed o/n in Tirana, Shkodra, Durres, Vlora, Saranda, Gjirokastra and Berat. Each town or city is unique in what it offers to the tourist. The road stops for coffee or meals in towns and villages along the way provided further interest to our tour. Many of the ancient sites and towns in Albania are Unesco World Heritage listed with Butrinti being outstanding."
"Highlights for me included the hotels/guest houses in Tirana, Berat and Gjirokastra, as well as our visits to Apollonia, Ali Pasha’s fortress, Himara and the Mesi Bridge, though there is nothing I would have taken out of the tour. Personally I loved the food, I’m a big fan of meze! The itinerary was well-paced with plenty to see and do, but not rushed and with convenient stops along the way. I had wondered how things would be with a guide/driver with us for the whole time but we had a really good balance of doing things together and alone time."
"I have no complaints at all about the tour, Back in Australian now, I have been urging friends to go to Albania and travel with him. I could not recommend him more highly. He has an excellent knowledge of Albanian History extending back to Ancient Greek and Roman times, the Geography and fauna of Albania and he discusses politics without taking sides. He is also a good conversationalist."
"My wife and I just had a wonderful 16 day Albania/Macedonia tour with Albania Travel. Planned well, good hotels, exceptional food and our main guide Enea amounted to an exceptional experience we highly recommend. This lesser known part of the world is a great region to be seen and Albania Travel delivered flawlessly for us. No exceptions – Albania is great."

He always replied to our emails within one dayHis advice was very good and well adjusted to our personal wishes. Their rates are very good for the service provided. During the trip we had this as our driver and guide and his knowledge was superb, his English excellent, his driving very safe, the car very comfortable and his humor very nice. Very recommended. We had a great trip and were so happy to have visited Albania. A wonderful undiscovered destination."
Why you should visit Albania?
Albania is the last unexplored area of the European touristic map, so the interest to visit this small and beautiful country is growing more and more. Albania has become a favorite destination for travelers. Having been almost entirely closed off under the hard-line communist regime for many decades, the country is still considered an exotic tourist destination. The natural scenery and beauty of the mountainous countryside is therefore largely unspoilt. Visitors can discover crystal-clear mountain lakes and gorgeous beaches.Albania is looking ahead to a brighter future. There is no better time to visit than now.
Is Albania Europe’s next big beach holiday destination!?
It could be argued that, when it comes to travel, there are few mysteries left in western Europe. A continent so trawled, trusted and trammelled by tourist footfall has long since given up its last hidden corners. Especially those corners which abut the seafront. But if you take another glance at the map, one remaining pocket of the relatively unknown may just stare back at you. Albania is like a missing piece in an otherwise completed jigsaw – the final portion of the landmass along the Adriatic which has not become a beach-holiday stalwart.
Arriving in Albania by Sea
To cross in albania by sea you can use some of the harbours (ports) like: Durres, Vlora, Shengjin, Saranda. There are many ferry services to Albania mainly from Italy and Greece, like for ex From Korfu (Greece) to Saranda, in the south of the country, from Ancona, Bari, Brindisi and Trieste (Italy) to Durres and Vlora. From Bari you can use the ferry where you can also bring the car, a trip which longs around 9 hours. And also the Cataraman or the quick one that brings you in albania in around 3 hours 30 min. Entry Points:Road links to the Kosovo region are sometimes dangerous to use, owing to political tensions in the region. So before using them get the lattest info on security issues at the nearest Albanian embassy.
Tirana is the capital city and main urban area of Albania, with a population of 454,000 inhabitants. For Albania as a Nation, Tirana represents the center of culture and business. The scale and grandour of the Et’hem Bey Mosque indicates that the majority of the population are Muslim, but in addition, historic communities of Orthodox and Catholic Christians co-exist – from where Mother Teresa originated. Tirana has been transformed, with high-quality blocks of flats, good small hotels, excellent bars, patisseries and restaurants. There are even bookshops which sell the Guardian. There are many pavement bars and restaurants where it is perfectly safe to sit out at night.Tirana is notable for its open design, with the center dominated by the enormous Skanderbeg Square. A statue of the one-time dictator, Enver Hoxha, now stands guard.

The controversial little country squeezed among Europe’s most famous touristic powers – Greece, Italy and Croatia. And… my favorite country I have visited so far without a doubt. Ironically, most of travelers skip Albania whatsoever while traveling south to Greece. What a mistake it is!
